How To Fall Asleep Fast  - A Rapid New Technique

How to fall asleep fast, wow, if only, right? We have all experienced those nights when we are lying there awake and can’t stop out minds racing away with uncontrollable thoughts. Thoughts enter and leave the mind like hopping fleas, and we seemingly have no control over the runaway train that is our brain.

In my sleep book, Six Steps To Sleep Now, I advise you not to lie in bed for more than 20 minutes at a time should you be unable to sleep. Ideally you should leave the sleeping environment, go into another room and do something lightly engaging but not over stimulating, such as reading a magazine.

However, for those of you that can’t leave the room for fear of disturbing a partner or waking the kids, I have an alternative technique to fall asleep fast that has been working well for a client of mine.

Fall Asleep Fast By Putting The Day To Bed... Step By Step

Trace every step of your day in your mind. Close your eyes, and starting from the time you woke up until the time you went to bed, visualise your every movement chronologically. That means toilet breaks, meals, conversations, everything. My client reported that he barely got past his 11am tea break before he was unknowingly asleep.

Really concentrate on the details and hone your mind in on the visual aspect of what you did during the day. This stops your mind randomly flitting from story to story and forces it to relax. You may struggle with this at first, but be persistent and give it a go a few nights over. Remember though, techniques like this wont work unless you are implementing them as part of a good sleep hygiene routine

Sleep well.
